SAFB Air Show

This weekend was the air show at Scott. Along with me and Logan, Grammies joined us as well as Aunt Sis and Emily. It was raining but not hard enough to keep us away. Once it stopped the day was much more enjoyable. Logan was initially impressed with the Metrolink and the buses but that quickly changed once we got there. I have been on a passenger plane a hand full of times but the sizes of these planes really did make the others look like cracker jack boxes. Logan had a lot of "oooooohs" at the big planes and could have cared less about the rain. We took advantage of the tours and stayed to watch a few of the shows.

There were not many windows in the refueling plane but we found one for a quick game of peek a boo.

When we first got there today it was raining so we walked around in the hangar to see some of the smaller planes and exhibitors. Logan received a crash course on how to fly a plane and how to check the gauges. The guy in the plane was impressed as Logan initially pointed to all of the gauges and then grabbed for the controls. He also said that maybe in a few years Logan could be his co-pilot (which would make his momma a nervous wreck).

We got to see all of the show planes take off (or at least the ones we could watch before leaving) and both Emily and Logan were busy looking and keeping track of them in the sky. I would have to say that his reactions to the BIG planes was more exciting than the reactions to the planes flying overhead.

One of the first demonstrations today were the parachuters. I think the most exciting part for Logan was watching the landings. He wasn't to sure what to think but still really enjoyed watching them.

After all of the excitement, bub was pretty worn out. We packed up, headed back to the bus and metro, and went to lunch before heading home for a nap.

18 month check-up stats

Today was the first time they measured and weighed Logan on the stand up scales. He is still 34 inches tall but weighs 29lb and 8 oz (that is a 2lb,1oz gain since his 15 month checkup) and he is still in the 90s on the percentile scale. Logan got his last shot until Kindergarten, or so they tell me, and it was the 2nd Hep A shot. I was surprised when he DID NOT cry. I think the Snoopy band aid distracted him and contained him to a reach for daddy. The doctor told us that he looked great and he doesn't have to come back until he is 2 unless we have any unexpected issues.

Hey Uncle Bob, check this out!!!

A couple weeks ago I went to the Mothers of Multiples sale at BAC where I found this tool bench. As luck would have it, I also found a set of tools at a different yard sale that day. Logan gets to play with a tool bench just like this at Carolyn's and from what I understand he really likes it. Along with the hammer you see here, we have a power drill, electric sander, 2 saws, a screwdriver, 2 wrenches, and a couple of other tools that I don't know the names of. His favorite is the drill that makes a light on the wall. Uncle Bob may have a little helper in a few years.

18 months old!!!

This last month sure has gone by fast. Logan is growing like a weed and becoming more of a little man everyday. Unfortunately with that, he has mastered "no" by shaking his head and also throwing more little fits when he feels it is warranted. Overall, bub is still a good kid. For the most part he listens really well but still likes to "press my luck mom". (Hey Steph, do you remember that?). Developmentally, he has jumped up a notch with his talking. He still only says a few words but he babbles A LOT. Having serious conversations with daddy is a big thing right now. The funniest part is the totally serious look on his face. All of his motor components are still in overdrive. He loves to climb, jump, run, kick the ball, throw, spin himself in circles, and roll/flail himself on the floor. I have refrained from getting out my developmental chart and seeing where Logan falls on it. I complain about his inablility to talk but I know he is doing just fine, not comparing to others is the hard part. He goes to the doctor tomorrow for his 18 month check up so I will have details as far as his height, weight, and other stuff up tomorrow or shortly thereafter. Happy 18 months bub, we love you!!!

Labor Day Parade

Every year we meet friends and family at the Labor Day Parade. I was pretty sure that Logan would LOVE this parade because there are A LOT of big trucks. He got to see school buses, fire trucks, earth movers, and a couple of semi trucks. In this picture, he is showing PawPaw the big piece of equipment in which I have no idea what it is called. We came home with lots of candy and Logan probably picked up about one third of it. He did a good job. After the parade we went to Applebee's for lunch and then headed home for a nice long nap. I wonder if he will be just as excited to see all of the big trucks next year?

More Grizzlies and the Deleted Pic

Here is that picture I accidently deleted. I guess my blogging skills are still in need of refining. Aren't these three too cute.

I am not sure if anyone ever figured out why there was an armadillo there (because the Grizzlies mascot is obviously a bear) but the kids had fun saying hi to him. Logan on the other hand was not so excited. Even with PawPaw the armadillo was scarry. Every time it would walk by, Logan would literally tremble with fright. I wonder was Santa and the Easter Bunny will be like this year and next?

Gateway Grizzlies Game

Saturday night we (the 3 of us) joined T, Brian, Maddy, John, Stacy, Emelia, and many many others at the Grizzlies Game. This was Logan's official first baseball game. As you can see, peeking over the fence was fun. Logan seemed to have a good time, especially with Maddy and Emelia there. Grammies, Paw Paw, Emily, Aunt Sis, and Uncle Bob we fun to be with too.

Since we had hot tub tickets, I took the swim gear along just incase. I was still debating if I was going to let Logan in the hot tub but unforseen circumstances helped me with that decision. Logan was looking at Baby Ashton but quickly decided he wanted a drink of Carolyn's soda. There was no lid and it was a very full glass. End result, lots of laughs and a very soda soaked Logan. The hot tub was the easiest way to clean him up. I was not too thrilled to put my suit on and luckily I didn't have to. Uncle Luke and Uncle Matt were nice enough to let Logan play in the hot tub with them. Once again, the three kids enjoyed the company of each other. Getting them to sit still proved difficult once again. (there was a picture here but I accidently deleted it, sorry) Playing on steps, very fun! We left at about 8ish and all three were still going strong. Surprisingly, Logan did not fall asleep on the way home and he came to the new realization that reading books in the dark was not easy. Thanks Aunt T and Uncle Brian for letting us join you!!
