My First Skates
For Logan's birthday we bought him the Fisher Price "My First Skates". Well, we finally got around to putting them on him to see how he did. They have 3 settings in which the beginner setting allows him to walk vs. roll to learn the balance aspect. He did surprisingly well! He caught on quick and was walking back and forth across the kitchen with great balance. Then my little dare devil decided to walk backwards, and did great! He only fell twice because he literally tripped over his own feet/big klunky skates. His only hang-up was trying to get up off the floor after he fell. He looked like me trying to stand up in the middle of an ice rink with ice skates. Not too successful. Andy and I were pretty impressed with his first time on his new skates. If he could only part with them as well as he could walk with them.

Bean bag chair
We were grocery shopping one night at Schnucks and saw a display for Miller Lite that had a Final Four/March Maddness bean bag chair raffle. Since I am turning cheap in my old age I thought it would be a great way to get one for Logan without having to pay a price that I thought was too much for a bean bag chair. I entered my name, Andy's name, mom's name and dad's name to increase my chances to win. A short time later my mom calls me confused about someone calling her looking for dad. The catch is is that I forgot to tell mom that I entered their names. We had won the raffle and now Logan has a new bean bag chair.
Emelia's 2nd Birthday Party
Saturday night we celebrated Emelia's 2nd birthday. After a nice long nap we headed out to Mascoutah for some friends and fun. Unfortunately I do not have any pics of the three together (which is a first when they are together) because there were so many toys and other kids to play with they were lucky to cross paths. We all had a good time, especially the kids.
Easter at Eckert's
The Saturday before Easter Logan and I met up with Teresa and Maddy (along with a couple of gmas) at Eckert's for breakfast and their Easter Eggcitement. Last year was a good time and so was this year. There was an egg hunt, pic with bunny, plant a green bean, face painting, and decorating a cookie. Oh, and I can't forget the wagon ride! That it one of Logan's favorites!! The two of them were so cute and it was really neat to see how different Logan's reactions were compared to last Easter. My little bub is growing up fast.

Little Slugger
Since it was a nice day outside and there was really nothing else to do, Andy and Logan decided to go outside and play with his tee-ball toys he got for his birthday. They were already outside practicing when I got home from work today. Believe it or not, Logan does really well with the bat. His hand eye coordination is a bit off but I think that is to be expected the first time. It looked like Logan really enjoys his new toy and unfortunatley tries to play with it in the house. Andy already has this MLB Slugger in training.

The Easter Bunny visits early
Since the holidays can be so crazy with 2 houses to visit for me and Steph, mom ususally has our family Easter on Palm Sunday. I guess grandmas have a way of sweet talking the Easter Bunny and got him to stop by their house a week early. Logan had a great time playing with Maddy as they took turns jumping off of a step stool. It must be the simple things in life. They probably spent a good half hour taking turns jumping off and "wiping out" on the floor. It must have been that "I am so tired because I haven't had a nap" energy that kept them going. Overall the day was great and we got to visit with the whole family.
Yardwork
As much as we both were dreading the chore of the day, Saturday was a good day to get out into the yard and rake up some the thousands of gumball before mowing for the first time this year. So we all put on some old work clothes and went to work. Andy raked and Logan and I put the gumballs into the yardwaste cans. I was very impressed that Logan attended to the task for as long as he did. He had a blast picking up gumballs and putting them into a box which he would then dump into the yardwaste cans. We did have to take a couple of breaks so he could ride his tricycle or play on his climbers. I am not sure how but I managed to get him back work without a fight. He sure was a big help!!
Needless to say, Andy and I can barely move today and Logan is just his normal self. I wonder what is feels like to have no aches and an endless supply of energy? We curse this time of year because we hate the gumballs (I love the tree though). The bad news is is that we ran out of places to put the gumballs so next weekend we will be out there again. Yeah (with large amounts of sarcasim implied).
