Pumpkin Picking '09

Saturday we got together with the Horvath Crew for our annual pumpkin picking day at Eckert's. It was a bit chilly that morning but once we got moving and a couple of hours passed, it turned into a beautiful day. As always, Logan loved the wagon ride and pointed out every one we saw or passed along the way. It is funny to think back to the first time we went when the kids were just 7 months old and to compare that to this time. What a difference and wow how time flies. After we finished with the pumpkins, we visited the country store and then hit the restaurant for lunch. It was a fun day!

I had to post this just because it makes me laugh. He has no clue but he sure made it look believable.

A new favorite pic of mine. You just have to love that smile.

Carrying his pumpkin through the field.

"Look out, I'm driving the tractor!"

I finally got a shot of him looking at the camera AND smiling at the same time.

We can't wait for next year!
P.S. We missed you Stacy and Emelia! (curses on double ear infections)

Eckert's Fun Farm

Every year, Me and Logan, Steph and the girls, and Mom & Donna go out the Millstadt Eckert's Fun Farm. This year was just a bit colder than last year but we still had a good time. We did the basics like feeding the animals and riding the rides, but this year Logan was big enough to go through the corn maze and go down the enormous slide. And if you know my son, you also know that we were not able to leave there without a ride on one of the tractors. We chose the smaller one which took us on a path through the apple orchard. We all had a great time and hope to make it back again next year.

Running through the corn maze

What a "scary" monster face. It even has claws :)

I think the slide is 70 feet. Regardless, Logan loved it.

CHEESE!!!

Boo at the Zoo-2009

Friday night we headed over to the Zoo for Boo at the Zoo. We went last year and had a good time so we decided to join the Horvath's again this year. Logan's Dino-Dragon costume kept him pretty warm but momma was cold. Regardless of the temperature, we had a good time. We went into the children's zoo, rode the carousel, and strolled the zoo to look at the Halloween decorations.

My little dino-dragon

RRRROOOOAAAARRRR!!!

A good view of the back side of the costume
If you have never been, I recommend going. It is a good time for all.

SAFB Air Show 09

On 9/20, we ventured out on a rainy day to go to the SAFB Air Show. Logan enjoyed it last year so I was pretty sure he was going to enjoy it this year. He was able to go into many planes and sit in the cockpits. We also got a crash course on how the re-fueling planes do their thing. The only downfall was that all the flying demonstrations were cancelled due to the weather.

If you click the pic, you will be able to see Logan's head in the window of the cockpit.

Sitting on the ramp that leads into the plane. Very big!

Big Truck Day at the STL Magic House

On September 12, we joined Maddy and Aunt Teresa for the big truck day at the magic house. I couldn't turn down the invite because Logan LOVES big trucks. They had all kinds of trucks waiting for us when we arrived: tow trucks, firetrucks, mini backhoes, and more. Logan loved all of them and enjoyed honking the horns and just about all of them. They each were able to decorate a hard hat with stickers and markers.
Since we were there, we also went into the magic house to see what it all had to offer. I have never been there and obviously neither had Logan. Maddy and Aunt T gave a great tour and the kids had a blast with the variety of activities. We had a great time!!

Logan is somewhere in that fire mask.
